Labelled ‘the one to watch’, Amrit Dasu is already making waves in the music industry across the globe. After carving himself an explosive career in the United States, Amrit has now arrived in the UK to release his brand new single ‘That’s Right‘, taken from the soundtrack of British movie Amar Akbar & Tony which releases in the cinemas on the 17th April.
A singer, songwriter & model of Indian descent, Amrit was born in the US but raised in Hong Kong. English is his first language however he’s also fluent inHindi, Punjabi and Cantonese!
Amrit is Rishi Rich’s latest protégé and since being discovered by the music mogul, Amrit’s music career has gone from strength to strength, now culminating in a fantastic collaboration with veteran Bhangra artist, Juggy D. ‘That’s Right’ an urban contemporary sound, with smooth vocals and a steady beat. The song features on the film’s soundtrack, reflecting its objective in celebrating British Asian culture.
Already christened ‘the next Jay Sean’ and with an army of loyal fans behind him, Amrit’s latest release is much anticipated. The dynamic vocalist has natural talent and global appeal, and has already tasted success with his early releases.
The young star comments: “I’ve admired Rishi Rich and Juggy D for a very long time and really respect how they revolutionised the British Asian music scene, so to work with them on my latest release is truly an honour. It’s a personal mission of mine to re-introduce substance to popular RnB or urban contemporary music, which I hope comes across in my latest track, ‘That’s Right’. I think the track really plays homage to the early work of The Rishi Rich Project and so I can’t wait for fans to hear it. Amar Akbar & Tony is a fantastic film and I was more than happy to lend one of my songs to the soundtrack – it really suits the tone of the film”.
The soundtrack on the Saregama label album will be available on 17th April 2015from iTunes and other digital stores.
